From the time I was a young girl, I always enjoyed sewing and creating unique one-of-a-kind items.  For many years, I sewed for myself, my family and occasionally other loved ones -- but always considered my efforts a labor of love.  I'm a "sentimental soul" who believes that a handmade, from-the-heart gift is priceless and allows me to pass a bit of myself on to others.

Before my daughter Amie delivered her baby boy, Hudson, I thought of different ways to honor his arrival.  I wanted to create a gift that would be useful, but more importantly, just for him.  I searched for the softest fabric and carefully selected the appropriate binding.  From that point on, my heart took over as his blanket came together.  The personalized appliquéd poem in its corner is his blanket made this "Hudson's blanket."

A certified career coach by profession, I took a bit of my own advice when my daughter Amie and I decided to make this passion a full time effort.  Through the encouragement of and partnering with Amie, Heaven's New Souls was created.

Watching my Mom sew when I was a little girl, inspired me to take sewing lessons when I was about eight. Although my sewing career has been limited, those lessons provided me with the basics and appreciation for how fabric, in the hands of the right person, becomes art.

For a far back as I can remember, I loved babies and always had a baby doll under my arm. At 10, I began babysitting and when I completed a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin, it was no surprise that I choose pediatrics as my specialty. As I return to work part-time after the birth of my daughter Emmy, my fascination with children continues as I branch into yet another field, neo-natal intensive care.   With an all-time interest in fashion and trends, I'm labeled the "idea" person behind Heaven's New Souls.  Being a young mom myself, and listening to many of my friends at the same point in their lives, I now understand first-hand the needs and tastes of new moms.

Mom and I believe that each child is God's blessing and has a special place in our World.  We feel that the love our family has for Hudson and Emerson can be passed along to your special little one through one of our customized creations.
